Autumn Photography Sessions

The Colours
Unless you live or have been to the Macedon Ranges in Autumn, I can't quite describe just how beautiful the colours are. If you prefer warm colours, reds, oranges and gold, this is the time of year to book your session. It's almost as though any time of day is golden hour amongst the leaves!
The Leaves
What is more fun than playing in a big pile of fallen Autumn leaves, kicking them along as you walk, hearing that satisfying crunch beneath your feet and especially throwing a big handful of leaves in the air. It doesn't matter how old you are, there's nothing quite like it. These make for the best photos too!
The Light
In the cooler months the sun sits lower in the sky, meaning that the sun is less harsh, colours pop and outdoor sessions appear much softer. My favourite? Golden hour (both in the morning and the afternoon) is at a much more child friendly hour. The banner photo was taken at around 4:30pm and didn't disturb the routine at all!
The Temperature
If you're like me and you don't love the summer heat, Autumn is perfect. It hasn't become too cold and the weather is much more mild. You don't have to worry about sweat on your face or anywhere else! It's also the perfect time to get some photos in that long beautiful golden grass without worrying too much about what else is hiding in there!
When should I book?
Honestly, right now. Especially if you're after a weekend because most of these sessions have already been snapped up! I can't wait to hear from you. Let's have some fun!
